Althos Wrote:Sorry i agree wtih Taran on this, UO isn't a "new" game. Most people that are playing know how to go to certain places anyway and even if they are new they shouldn't have a hard time doing some research on how recall and mark work. Also the rune books in Brit in the training ground portal building should be more than enough to assist with travel. I see the portal as a lazy way of getting around and a probability of more unnecessary pages.

There's ressers in every town or at least a res portal so I don't see how it will cause more players to page and cause more trouble then good, the point is yes the game has been out a long time, there are more newer and modern games that are out that take less time and effort to play than it takes to macro here so you can do the math on that one.. I play wow and it took me 3 days to get to level 85 if I REALLY TRY I've been playing here for 9 days and I'm not even close to all my skills. Comparing age of the game to knowing the world wasn't really a good example not everyone has played ever since the game came out and using UOAM isn't really "knowing" the world either it's using an assist program rather than just having pads to prevent that in the first place.

You cannot, and should not, compare UO to WoW but I see what you're trying to imply.

I don't know about everyone else, but this game would become very boring if everything was easy like skill gain, travelling, and resource gathering. I for one LOVE the fact everything is hard because it adds to the nostalgic feel I miss from UO back in the day. If I wanted a more fast paced game I would play WoW or SWTOR. And in order for an economy of less than 500 players to be successful, you have to make it difficult. That is the bottom line.

Eru,

The issue here is that you're making solutions to problems that don't exist, currently 80% or so of the shard is in the mercenary camp macroing, we're all bunched up at britain or minoc, transportation to other far flung unused areas isn't necessary and should not be taken care of by staff.

Naturally we'll spread out sooner or later but not yet, we're all still building our characters and building an economy.

Essentially you're making more work for yourself that's not needed. Why fix what's not broken?

This is the best point anyone has made as of yet.

sm0ke Wrote:That's your opinion and that's fine, other people like PVM building static RPing or PvPing I don't understand why just because you like running around and exploring that everyone else needs too as well? I don't force you to PvP or gank so why are you trying to force players to run around the world just because you like observing the things that are there?

Indeed. Did you see what you just typed there, though? You're pushing this stuff on us.

I am not trying to force people to explore. They don't have to run around just to get from point A to point B, they can use one of the many rune book libraries that will exist. As people already pointed out, the shard already contains recall runes and rune books. I see absolutely no reason to make things easier. You've already asked them to make it easier to gain combat skills when in fact they're already pretty easy. I said it before, and I'll say it again. ADAPT

Yep.

no. i don't see any decent reason why it should be add. I guess It would be way better to have no-delay teleporter to Ocllo and BucDen with 4-5spots in every town.

What are you talking about dude? How am I forcing this on anyone? Eru made the topic he said to discuss it, it's what I'm doing and you seem to agree with my points expect that you say "I'm forcing this on you" and apparently I'm not adapting? I haven't complained about skill gain pvp or anything I'm suggesting things that will be better for the shard later on.

As for Fulmanar's post he said it's not "yet broken" but it eventually will be as he pretty much said when people are ready to play and not macro well it's still not wasted time if it's going to be used when people are done macroing. For example It's like a brand new shard you script so that when you open the shard it's playable and there isn't problems when you're ready to macro or to play you script it so that it's perfect and there are no problems so that the players are kept happy. I don't see why you're not for this all it does if anything is help new players or inexpierenced players with exploring..

If anything people running around lost in the world would cause more problems and pages to GM's than not having this system if you ask me.
