people departing from pits
#37

Ryuuku Wrote:You sure? you bet your hand on it?
Always gonna have dumbass without life to do something like it.
But that not the point, even it hapening 5 time per minute its already sad to see those letters on the screen.

EDIT: Let anyone turn it On/Off and do whatever you want with it! ¬¬

The whole point of this idea would be wasted if there was a Turn on/off button.

There should be a rule if GMs catch someone purposely spamming it by entering brit or any town going pits and repeat.. They should be jailed

The more I think about this, the more I think it's going to be a butt-ton of scripting, setting custom regions, etc, just to test something out that may not work, and then cripple it with a toggle if it does work.

all this will do is continue to give people an excuse to sit in the pits. If your location is on the status page, or being spammed on the screen letting people know where you are, all the people that aren't pvp oriented would hunt even less, or do anything outside of town much much less.

And like Ryuuku said, I already know of a few people who would purposely exit and enter the pits or wherever to spam on the screen the location of where they are.

There would have to be a lot of limitations on this, otherwise it would drive away all the non-pvp based people.

well i agree but it's come to a point to where, why do we even bother playing? we have all these items and everyones afraid to do things with them.. there just pixels you can't grab them in real life there not worth anything to us in the real world so i don't understand why everyone is so afraid and just macro's all the time or sits in pits..

At this point I really think something needs to be done, such as removing guards in towns for a week or something because it's just so silly how afraid people really are. I mean they look at a good pvpers and they don't even have self confidence..

THATS WHY there shouldnt be A RP/PVP SHARD. Go all PVP or All RP :icon_twisted:

Na, this shard could be great for PvPers and RPers, if we had 250ppl online, just like it was planned... But yeah, while XUO with 40ppl had non-stop ganking and tours with 40ppl, this server just dead from PvP standpoint:/

I think the message reporting someones left the pits is a bit pointless for brit and minoc that would just be spam, But bridge and occlo seems ok although i would in most cases avoid using it.
I like the idea of no guards, although not for like a week but like the guards take an hour break a few times a day.

Haha and do it at a random point to keep people on their toes

I really don't know about that Shai... back on XUO I was a HUGE hunter and something like my coordinates on a status page didn't stop me any. Sure it sucked to get caught by someone and lose all that gold and loot, but it was one of those risks, and more of a reason why I liked hunting really fast or with a buddy. If anything this will promote team work to avoid getting caught by gankers. Besides, this is going a little off smoke's suggestion of getting a message to say you left pits.

Originally I thought it would say whenever you entered/left an area, but just the fact it says you left pits doesn't do much.

Don't be silly, if this happens, RP'ers, hunters, whoever aren't going to jump up and down with joy like you think. I highly doubt they will be excited to get to try to brave against hardcore pvp'ers every time they decide to hunt. To believe so, that's pure ignorance. You may as well put coordinates on the .on gump of where everyone is at all the time. I'm tired of everyone relying on events 24/7 for fun, and these suggestions to help benefit the pvp'ers and ONLY the pvp'ers, is stupid. It's not going to benefit the non-pvp'ers in any way. Like you all know, or at least I hope you know, this is an RP/PVP shard. Now if this was a pvp shard, that would be an awesome idea. But its not.

Sure, I'd like to believe it as much as you. But its not logical. Listen, its not hard to find people to kill. Get up out of the damn pits, go run through dungeons and find your targets that way, you shouldn't have to have it handed to you on a silver platter. Thats lazyness. And I'm really sick of seeing it.

Hey Shai, remind me to call your next suggestion pure ignorance when you think something will help out the shard.

Why don't you try giving some explanations on why you think something won't work instead of just dismissing it as pure ignorance when we are trying to find ways to help improve the shard? Or better yet why don't you give some suggestions to help make it into an idea that can be implemented. The kind of response you're giving really doesn't encourage people to bring their ideas to the shard to help make it better. All it does is further stagnate the shard from a lack of diversity, and that's what a shard needs to prosper.

This might be a pvp oriented suggestion, but that doesn't mean it deserves to be turned down before it's even given a chance. As you said, this is a RP/PVP shard so where's the harm in doing a little something for the pvpers now and then?

You say people need to be less dependent on events, and here's a suggestion to help make that happen yet you're so fast to shoot it down without any suggestions to try and help it out.

I'm not even a big PVPer yet I've given almost a dozen different ways this idea could be implemented so it doesn't make people paranoid about leaving town but can still make the game more fun for others.

Now if people are too stubborn to team up because there's a greater possibility they get ganked, let them be idiots and hurt themselves. If a by-product of this suggestion is more interaction between players, is that really such a bad thing? Will people really stop hunting completely? Pretty sad if that's all it takes to get people to stop.

And in case you've gotten lost or confused in this thread, the suggestion smoke gave was to have a single system message when someone left pits. That's it, that's all. I said it's a great idea provided it doesn't tell people where else you went. Where's the harm in seeing a message 'shai left pits'? It doesn't tell anybody where you went and that's a million times less specific then xyz co-ordinates on the status page.

Re-read the thread if you got confused before you call something pure ignorance because this is a worthwhile suggestion as far as a number of players are concerned. And in the end you won't see a system message saying 'shai recalled to the xtreme wyrm on level 3 of destard' so it doesn't affect hunting at all.

Lol. Yes this is a rp/pvp shard so I think Coords should be added to status page. Thats for the pvpers. Every update theres always.. Atleast 90% of the time something for rpers. Probably 99% of the time. Always new quests new everything for rp and never pvp. But one time when something would benefit pvpers everyone objects on it because they are Puss ies afraid to lose fuking items on a 30 playerbase shard. Well guess what its PVP also so something pvpish like this should be added.

Its what I think atleast. Hopefully other pvpers agree with me

(Yes coords are offtopic but this would be a completely better thing then "Player left pits" Smile )

I feel like us pvpers are getting punished all the time becuase of our talents to be able to heal when knowing to heal.. It's common knowledge. I think people being afraid of people is ridiculously stupid. The reason people don't go to occlo is because

1. they're afraid to die
2. they're afk all the time because there use to the inactive staff
3. they've taken it upon them selves to macro all skills because it's actually something to do (as have i)
4. This system would really help but all you guys have been doing is putting it off and showing regret to it.. we were forced to try without the pits for a week i think we should force this, i mean look at how terrified people are its becoming stupid.

So for all the gms that say we should be encouraged ganking and finding people in the world, well where are they? there so use to "entertainning them selfs" by macroing all of their skills and gathering items and being afraid to use them.. So provoking us to go ganking will do nothing because it's always the same people who are always up for ganking who are the same people who are in occlo today. People need to stop being afraid really..

What staff needs to do is create activity before we can "create entertainment for our selves" first. Do this by hosting tournies and other events to get people active. Yes i know you don't like the idea but hell if it gets players on the more tours the more activity there will be and THEN finally will we be able to gank and entertain our selves with all the people we have online. Right now GM's just complainning at players to go gank and calling us lazy is doing nothing at all. Something needs to be done and soon =/
