PvP Skills for new joiners
#13

Full spellbook, GM eval. intel., GM Magery, GM Ressist , 80 Healing, 80tactics and 80sword would be enought, trust me. They could go hunt for money to buy pots, scrolls. It would be like ~20mins hunting and they already will be able to buy all the supplies for gank.
PvPers are leaving not because of WoW, but due to lack of the action. Look, UO is old game, as i already said macroing in UO isnt funny. If you love to PvM/Crafting you most likely will go WoW or Lineage. But there are no games with as good pvp as UO has. So we could bring pvpers easily, but problem is skill gain. Look how it works in 90% of times. You got friend irl or in /icq/msn/aim, you played on other servers together, and you want to bring him here. U asking him:
-Hey, come on i got cool shard with XUO pvp style http://www.in-x.org
-Naa, man... i dont feel like wasting month on macroing, i did it a lot times in the past, i just wanna get sum fun. I'll try to find someting else with free skills.
And then this guy found other shard, he messaging hes buddy from in-x and ask him to move on hes new server. Cos they want play together and as long as other shards got NOS\XUO pvp style also, it will be much easier to play there instead of IN-X, because of free skills.

Well, anyway, its up on Maka and Taran.

That is a lot of skills:/ Would make us like any other ***** shard, pretty much at least.

We are discussing what to do, and how to prepare the shard for the emails. Fact is, if there are 180 players online, and the skill gain is reasonable, those PvPers would want to macro anyways...or at least I would think so. If we could find a good balance on how to balance skill gains vs the amount of new joiners, then I think we would get a lot of new players when re-annoucning the server.

Heh, i agree that if there will be 180 players pvpers will raise skills anyway, the question is - do you really believe that we will reach at least 80-100 players? Who will ever log on shard when there are 5 people online?

Almost no one, but INX had zero players before we sent out the emails. We now have more and more up to date emails (including forum emails), a better server, new hardware (soon hopefully) and a server that is easier to live on than when INX first started (skills, loot, money etc).

If you guys remember, we were at 150-200 avg for a long time, on a much worse balanced loots/life than we have now. We had 380 peaks, on emails going back to the tus times...

I'm not worried for our promotional means, I have no doubt in my mind that we will hit high again. We (the staff team) just need to get ourselves together so that we can prepare the server for the new launch.

All these are obviously just opinions and speculations based on previous experiences, I r not Nostradamus, but then again, neither was he:p

I don't see any problem making combats skill easy to gain ( it not so hard now), magery is already a bit easy only need some money, I don't care with those skill but I dont wanna see any other skill gain changed.

If combats skill gonna make shard breath , make it easy. But no R/R book for those new easy skill gain. Wink

Hi, I played on NOS, A9 and NOS when it started. To be honest I think free skills are a good think. All your doing is saving all the players from sitting around for days macroing rather than doing stuff around the server. Skills get people playing right away, they would obviously still have to work on those crafting skills.

Yeh, thats what im talking about.. ive played NOS, a9, XUO also, and i personally NEVER macroed skills/stats. Luckily i transfered char from XUO when we could do it here. So i didnt macro most of skills here too. And im sure we could get many people who played those shards if you would give em pvp skillsSad

Even starting people at like, 85% in swords, tactics, parry, healing, anat, resist, magery, eval int, and gm in hiding and stealth.

That lets everyone get to playing as soon as they get here. Like other people were saying, lets stop this crap where players get here and macro hiding at brit bank for 3 days, ITS NOT FUN TO MACRO BASIC SKILLS.

Its not really fun to macro anything but at least with crafts you have an objective, the skills need to be hard to give them value, ofc that makes sense. But all the basic skills you need for hunting and pvp should be easy, if you start them at 85 then all the skills are usable to the point they dont need to macro, but will need to eventually finish them off using the same macros they would of had to, but just in less time and less idling around contributing nothing to server.

EDIT: I know the people from IN really love hard skills, but just let me ask one question, did you still love how hard those skills were when IN1 went down and you lost all that hard work? Its a game, its supposed to be fun. I can go to work when I want to work Big Grin
