We are gaining new players but slowly so jst a suggestion to either add in a Voting Stone leading to the most popular voting site or sending a pop up once a week when max players are on......

Yeah I thought about that too. But connectuo is down, so is topsites.
I don't want to use gamesites because for some reason we got removed twice. Plus the staff there are inactive.

So there's only really xtremetop100 left, or are there any other popular voting sites out there?

well i had a look but the best 1 out there seems to be xtreemtop100 and we are 5th so ya should really impliment a stone for that site as there isnt alot of our players go on the forums and remember to vote...With a Voting Stone to that particular site youll prolly be gettin twice as much votes with the stone than using the the IN-X webpage, so it really would be worth it.

Realistically, how many new players come from those top free-sites? It seems like a more reliable method would be to just recruit friends to the server. Also, it'd be nice to google bomb the phrase "Free UO server" with the in-x.org website.

This has been my plan since we started the server, but I've always wanted to do it when the server was in a more finished state, so never got around too it. Think Taran has like 50 USD for google (I know it's not much, but still) that he got from the web hosting company when signing/paying up. No clue if its still there or not, but it could be an idea to launch it together with the emails.

Think that is the best way we have right now, those loads of emails.

Actually I used most of the google adverts already.
But I couldn't use ultima online because that was copyrighted or something and when I used UO it costed like $5 a click, lol.

According to this, you can google bomb with blogs, which should be some nice, free advertising.

There are so many voting sites! Most of them suck but just for the hell of it I looked for a few.
