I was just thinking guys...Empty lots may not be as big as an issue as we think on a Sphere rep shard. Its safe to say that if there is no door anyone can just walk onto your empty lot. It has been made clear that there will be no carebear nonsense for housing here and house looting is legal. Yeah of course there will be those *******s who would just put up one wall and a door.

you can walk on a custom house like any other house so long as its scripted right, which we will do. if custom houses are implemented they will have the SAME security as regular houses. this means you can walk into the front door if it's left open, you can loot stuff not locked down, etc.

The fee idea would exist only to get people to work on their house, and those who want it just for a random plot of land won't buy it.

sorry but there is no way this is happening. we have previously agreed we will start with only regular houses and add custom houses later if enough people want them.

not to mention if we were to add custom houses to the list it would delay the opening by a little while since none of the details have been discussed by the staff.

but no custom tool house on server the house that people submit will be places as to design can not be custom

i like that idea pelletier

but i don't think too many people will want to give out their design. my design is something special that i have done for the past few years. i wouldn't want people to get it, let them do their own thing. or copy me the hard way but that's just me. only way i'd possibly want to give out my design is if i were to get a commission each time someone buys my design.

When I get time, and when the server is up and running, a housing system that works like this would be implemented (obviously only if you guys like it). The ideas have been taken from through this thread, so if I missed something, feel free to add it.

Central concepts of this system would be:

• All custom houses must be approved by a selected amount of people; a few staff members and possibly one or more RP real estates guilds. They will also be tested so that they do not contain any "bugs, such as missing walls, stairs and floor tiles. Votes would be held to determine if a house design will be accepted.
  
• You can customize a house, for both yourself and for the public to buy as ready made houses. If you customize a house for the public you'll get a commission on every house sold of your type.
  
• Custom houses would have same housing rules as regular sphere houses.
  
• Custom houses will have a preview option on every floor with the same view you would have if you built it yourself.
  
• Everything would be automatic, besides the process of approval.
