Lerri Wrote:Elcid your in no position to call anyone a retard.

on a more general note why is it bad for people to get excited and giddy that the shard is coming up, let people be happy theres no reason on earth that they shouldnt be allowed to be.

Umm... where in my post did i call anyone a retard....? Might wanna take your meds or put on your glasses Lerri Wink

It isnt overly "bad" but it just stupid to have a million threads all asking/stating when the shardw ill be up when we already have about 10 of them with the same discussion going on. The first post of this thread should have been put into one of those like the rest of us did.

i agree with elcid. having 10 posts asking the same question is annoying :/ i can understand if one topic isn't touched for a week or two and then somebody asks, but some of these threads aren't even a few days old.

and writing a thread about saying "yea the shard is coming up" ie happyness. is a little different from a thread saying "when are you lazy f*cks getting off your *sses and gonna get this thing going?" hehe i exagerated a little, but you know what im saying Smile

Thanks,

You gotta realize alot of people haven't been checking the forums regularly. I agree it might be better if they checked before posting, but you can't begrudge them for asking the question we all want to know most when visiting this forum. *shrugs* complaining about it won't really stop the posts. Only thing that will stop them is the server coming up so just sit tight and ignore the posts if they bother you so much.

Cole Wrote:I don't think you can guarantee that, and yes, i think that people starting threads could certainly be a biproduct of giddyness/happiness.

"No one" may be a exaggerated word. However, I can guarantee, the majority would not appriciate these threads.

That people start making these kinds of threads may be a biproduct of happiness, yes of course, but not allowing them to make these kinds of threads would not prevent them from being happy, nor, make them unhappy, like Lerri makes it sound like.

A very few appriciates these threads, that's something I hope you can agree with. Even less appriciates them the more there are of them.

Skorpion Wrote:You gotta realize alot of people haven't been checking the forums regularly.

I know that. That is also one of the reason why this rule was made;

Forum Rules Wrote:Please use the search button before making a post, there's a good chance that whatever you are posting has been discussed before.

And to check at least the first page, before making threads, is something that I really expect everyone to do.

Skorpion Wrote:complaining about it won't really stop the posts.

Of course it will! The staff reads the threads, the comments. They will see it. If they agree, they will do something about it. They will see that people are dissatisfied, also who and how many agree. They will be reading arguments from both sides.

Skorpion Wrote:Only thing that will stop them is the server coming up

Of course there are other ways!
If I was one of the thread maker, or if I was going to make one thread like this one, of course I would take these kinds of posts into consideration, wouldn't you?

By having the forums moderated is by far much better way to stop them. By giving people warnings when braking forum rules, which could lead to a temporary or permanent ban from the forums.

This is how it works on pretty much every decent forums and I really don't know why it wouldn't work here.

I would just suggest that there may be a larger pool of people who are pretty much indifferent to an unnecessarily high amount of threads about one thing. At least it's positive anticipation, instead of pessimistic accusation.

Word !

Also when I was posting as a ***** about the server info, I considered it as positive anticipation.

Consider the Site and Forums as they where and consider they now with regular updated info on development !! It feels good to know there are advances and something is being made out of it.

At least many more people gets encouraged to pass by and smile once and a while Wink

Yes I agree Lederoil forum moderation is good, rules posted on a forum are also favorable. The issue is that people who make these posts obviously don't come here often, obviously they haven't taken the time to do a search, because they haven't taken the time to read the posted rules. Rules and moderation can't sway someone who rarely drops by here. They don't have much to gain from keeping a forum they rarely visit clean of repeated posts. They aren't going to be banned from playing because they posted something already posted, and I wouldn't ask that they should be. Yell at them all you wish, you and the moderators can't do anything about it till the shard is open. There will always be these posts just like there have always been them for the last 8 months.
