Does smelting one by one gain skill?

no, only way to gain is by hitting the floor with the pickaxe ;D

No, ive gained mining by smelting, not sure if you can do it 1 by 1. Back on IN-X you could do like 7 by 7 or something like that. Havent tested it here.

I remember eru saying on another post that smelting doesnt increase mining...

You can smelt it for skill gain but i am pretty sure you have to do it in stacks of 10. I never did it but was told that would work.

I think I tested it out with 0 mining skill. Added a stack of like 20, then duped it a ton of times and tried with no skill gain. :/ Maybe it's because I was doing it as a GM. Feel free to test it out and report back.

Hit the ground really hard with a pickaxe or shovel. That's it. You don't gain mining from smelting ore. Just beating up the ground.

Trust me on this, you gain mining skill by smelting. He said that in the begginers guide because his test.
Ive gained skill while smelting regular stacks, like 80 ores. 100% sure.
