Update on latency issues
#1

Greetings,

I have been in contact with several people from XS4ALL and came with the following result:

There are/were two issues. One is lagspikes because of packetloss. The other is a constant ping of 300ms.

As far as I know, the lagspike and packetloss should be fixed. However, if you still experience such issues you can post it here and it will be fixed as well.

The network administrator at XS4ALL told me that the 300ms ping is normal and cannot be fixed. This because it is intercontinental data, what go over two or more continents.
However, If you have a ping of ~150 to an other host in the Netherlands then do a tracert to that host and a tracert to games05.xs4all.nl and we might look if it can be fixed. (Note: another host means that it has a .nl domain or an ip coming from the Netherlands. So no things as the kickass.org or whatever I saw in an other topic)

Its not 300ms for some of us its 400ms+ we can't pvp or pvm in this lag so i hope another server is looked at becuase alot of people arn't going to be happy. Sad

new server

One preferably in america... if europeans sacrifice a bit of their ping it means we all get more rounded pings eg. europeans go from 30 to max 150 and aussies go from 500 to 200 max. See how its more roundedddd...

Absolutely no difference for us, we can't even tell the difference between a lag spike or normal gameplay because it's always this laggy.

*edit
nevermind just use injection and you dont lag

will give injection a try and see if it fixes my lag issues and i suggest other people with similar problems try it aswell! Big Grin But it would be much appreciated if someone could make a guide of how to set up injection? becuase i have to redownload UO becoz injection F*cked up my UO coz i did it all wrong! hehe so maybe like a picture book type guide would be like da bomb! i will like kiss and hug you forever if someone made it. Otherwise ill have to like... live with lag! FOREVER gah ARGH gah!:doubt:

injection only solves a bit of the lag for some of us... still laggy as soon as you hop on a horse Sad
#7

are we gonna get a new server? coz xs4all can go down on me and swallow thats how much they suck
#8

It's pretty interesting that injection solves some of the lag...no clue why it would do that.

We are currently thinking about how to solve this issue, no solution yet.
#9

think its coz razor loads the whole map whereas injection only loads the area your in or something along those lines....

doesnt solve the issue of lag though... may make walking a lil easier but thats bout it. (YER... we got problems just walking thats how laggy we are lol)

It's your host, I'm using Telenor/BBB as well and this problem started a few days ago. Hate has the same problem and he has Telenor/BBB as well.
So it's nothing we can do, other than to complain to Telenor/BBB.
