another good in this post besides naming untrustworthy people is seeing who defends them. You can tell alot about a person more by his beliefs then his actions. Believe me Ive played this game since it started and I was born and raised on free shards I'm no sucker but I make a fair amount of money and if it bothers some people that ill spend 60k to exploit a conartist to my COMMUNITY then I really have to wonder where their morals lie.
For now this is my advice to all newbies who read this thread, There are a few good player traders out there but untill I can get an official site to post the bad ones and the good ones page cypher. 100% reliable and player friendly
thank you

Oh ok, ya because I believe this should be kept in game, it means im defending people who con others.. you obviously type before you think. If you had read, I never said that pointing out con artists is a bad thing.. i said keep it in game where it belongs. You may be doing a good thing.. but its mostly out of bitterness because you got caught by someone, then you say "I did it on purpose cause its my job to catch ppl" well good for you.. but ireally doubt you did it on purpose the first time.. sorry someone cheated you, but thats the game. And then you advertise some other at the end of your thread lol.. that also should stay "In game"

is this about Con's or good sales people? no its about keeping it in game, thats all. This sort of thing is not an outside the game issue. Don't make assumptions about my post.. i defended no one. You claim "You can tell alot about a person in their beliefs and actions" should actually be "You can ASSUME a lot about a person in their beliefs and actions".. your making assumptions.. you dont know anybody. Keep that stuff in game, if u walked up to me in game and said "WATCH OUT for this guy" i'd appreciate the gesture.. not when you bring it to the forums.

If you dont like the thread dont click on it. No one asking you to listen to me. But apparently and thankfully your views arent in line with the gm's and this post goes on unmolested by the likes of you.

I think its fine that he tells people to watch out for a scammer.

I would have done the exact same. Not because i would be bitter (I can take it if i get scammed since its my own fault for not thinking straight). But because people perhaps needs to be careful when tradeing with that player.

Don't want your name in a thread like this..? then don't scam. or do it clever enough so people don't realize you scammed them.

Is thievery not an act of con artistism? And its a legal skill, also if you are not able to discern a scam from a honest deal then you deserve to be scammed.
It is you who let yourself be scammed like you say in the opening post.
Why give one blame for your own actions? It was you who clicked the accept button on the tradescreen, it was you who walked along while one was smoothtalking you.

This topic is useless.

Gl with tracking down scammers btw, some would rather spend their time playing the game.
Oh and no, im not a scammer myself. Some of you would do good to learn to relativate.

Unmolested? Obviously your picking and choosing what to read, and not reading half of what anyone who disagrees a little, not even slightly, writes.. you didn't even read my post, instead you simply responded with what you think is big sophisticated words and with an authoritative attitude.. I'll reply again when you decide to go back and actually read my posts and form a real reply, not a "Look I'm smart" one. I didn't disagree with your intentions.. if u had read (and no you did not) then you'd know that.. your not worth anymore time.

Oh and for the record, while I respect Administrations opinions, they don't all agree in unison on everything, and just because one of them does agree doesn't make it the best opinion. There opinions is like everyone else's, an opinion. Don't use their participation in a thread as a way to back yourself up.

Look, people that scam exist, you cant protect everyone against being scammed, there are always people that will be scammers and always people that will be scammed and thats just a part of social gameplay. I have been scammed a few times aswell myself and yea it was shitty and yea i wasnt happy about it but it was indeed my own fault not seeing trough it. Being scammed develops quite a skill in judging certain tricks.
Some people here make a logical fallacy that if you do not judge scamming you are a bad person yourself apparently. Uo is not a controllable enviroment because uo's society is the community. You can twist and nerf certain things yes but that will eventually always turn out to a narrow gameplay and become carebare.

Exactly. Keep it in game, thats not a lot to ask and you can still warn people of the danger.

Well this is not a carebear server, of cause you can't protect all people from being scammed. But for someone to come to the forum saying "hey watch out when tradeing with this guy" is fine. Yes its a part of the game and there will always be scammers (and i don't mind that since it make it all more exiting).
But you can't tell a guy that he should not warn others.. Just like you would tell your friends ingame if a guy scammed you..
