Remove trap "skillup" location? Where was it at?
#1

I never did find out where it was at. I just remember soMa giving me the hint that it was somewhere in west brit.

Curious for the sake of skill gain on an incarnation using the files that Taran released.

Tinker shop next to west britain bank. There's a chest in there that's trapped (like 50% chance to KILL you, so be careful), and locked with a pretty high skill level.
If you unlock it and remove trap (or unlock it and risk death), you can get a copy of an engineering magazine (random issue number, non-readable, deco only). Also, it's guaranteed to have a round or square tinker-tool set which can't be gotten normally, I don't think.

Easier way is to level it up before you level up tinkering. Add a trap with a crossbow bolt to a box, then remove trap. Lower-level tinkering makes it easier to defuse the trap and it will do less damage if you mess up. You can get a buttload of bolts after leveling fletching for aw hile.

I think you can have razor listen for system messages to make sure that it's untrapped before retrapping, or it may not let you re-trap if there's already a trap. I forget.

I *THINK* this has the added benefit of slowly leveling tinkering, though I'm not sure.

Hrrm, perhaps soMa was mistaken when he mentioned it was designed to help raise remove trap skill. Oh well, where there is a will there is a way.

it definitely was. Ive gmed it multiple times off that. just train it up to 40 then macro on that box. (there may be a bug where you have to re-target periodically)

Not a bug. The spawner checks occasionally to see if the box is unlocked, then will respawn it locked. That's how it refills itself once someone's already got the rare spawn.

Idunno. It'll be a while before they start rolling it out and then it'll be even long before it's available to me b/c I'm in the suburbs. :< It's tempting just to mess with XML Spawners, but I don't know enough C# to fix bugs that're bound to crop up. I may end up just making a test shard for practicing GMing on and start up a youtube channel for how to use the XML system. Big Grin That's been on my back burner though.
