Seeing as how I'm at 121ms from eastern US, I'm content with the connection Taran is hosting. And i have el cheapo cable too

I'm not sure how much money is needed but to get a good dedicated server for at least a year will surely cost more than $1500. I would guess in between $2000-$3000 for a computer similar to the one we have now.
Sure there are cheaper servers but they rarely have a good connection.

It also seems that most players are content with the current connection. I think the only players who have unplayable ping are from Australia, it's too bad the connection between Europe and Australia isn't very good

u need ask about server in provider locale, not home pc! some like old holand server. becose more packets come around local ip.

My ping is similar. Between 120 and 130ms. It's fine for me. Also from East Coast of the US. And that's on 3mb DSL.

haha, me and Taran have had this discussion oh so many times. Look at my ping... I've been playing IN with that since day 1, and i do it because i love IN.

At the end of the day he is right, its expensive to get a good server, with a crap connection and its just as expensive to get a crap server on a great connection.
The middle ground needs to be found and for now that is the connection the server currently sits on.
Unless everyone is happy to donate $30ea and for once finally put their money where their mouthes are!!
