Dear Galdor
#1

Hey Galdor,

I'm not trying to hate on your recent suggestions or tell you to shut up or anything like that since the more the merrier, but these latest suggestions are of very small impact and don't give you much to do after the 10 minutes to learn the recipe and 10 minutes to occasionally collect any special ingredients.

Don't you think we should be focusing more so on content that will give you something to do for a longer period of time? Getting a recipe and making some dyes is something you can do all by your own and not get involved in the game or with other players, it keeps everyone separated.

We do all 'live' in one world after all and I think we need more interaction between players. Isn't that why the skill gain is so hard; so not everybody will do every skill and they will have to go to different people to get to their final goal of GMing a skill to be able to sell armor sets or whatever they want.

I think some of the ideas like what I posted here are more so along the lines of the type of additions we need, not for some little decos or hair colors. We need content to attract people here. I think a hunting competition has a better chance to attract new players or encourage existing ones to work with other players, or a pvp area where people scarred of the PVP can go to try it and get more involved with the other half of what this server offers, are better then the fact that you can have a sapphire colored beard...

Small things is what makes a shard.
Carpents and such things are something that make houses and other stuff appear cool and impact economy and give tradesmens things to do.

As for diffrent hue och facial and hair that is also something cool and would make players have a bigger variation in their apperances.

Do not reject small ideas, as ideas like this is what make the development of IN-X going and what will make IN-X continue to grow. (in the way of "adding more content for the players to enjoy)
I think i have stated before in-x will always be developing new stuff )impleminting new features) for players to enjoy. in-x is a lifetime project and when taran die im sure he would have learned hes kids how to take over this project Wink

Suggestions are there for small and or big issues.

Your thread dont do anything tough more than "scare" people from posting suggestions that could in your eyes seem minor but could in the end be something alot of players would like.
- your not in any position to tell people what they should focus on or not (if you think taran or the developers focus on the wrong issues, please PM or e-mail taran and explain why other suggestions should have a higher priority)

i repeat we (the in-x staff) appreciate all suggestions and ideas we can get.
And we will discuss and think about them.

btw the suggestions you think galdor came up with are not anything that would make the shard less fun (part from the pillow thingy that will amke fishing less rewarding) They will do the exact opposit they will make the shard more "unique" and more fun for everyone.

in conclusion - no ideas are worse than others - And im very much sure the developers and taran know what to focus on.

I fully agree with you that little things do indeed add up to make a big difference. For example look at the crafting menu style. Some people weren't happy it looked like sphere and others weren't happy it looked like RUNUO and this doesn't really affect much! Nevertheless it's still important enough for people to discuss why it should be one way and not the other.

Odium could you kindly please read the first sentence of my post again "I'm not trying to hate on your recent suggestions or tell you to shut up or anything like that since the more the merrier...". As I clearly said, I'm not telling him his suggestions are useless, and I'm not trying to scare others away from making suggestions either. And since when did anyone care what I said anyways? Least of all when telling them they're wrong, which I have NEVER done to someone's suggestion. I have always given my point of view. I have NEVER NEVER NEVER told someone their idea was wrong and they should be ashamed just for thinking it or commit suicide for having wasted the time we spent reading the suggestion.

And to be honest about this whole scare people away from making suggestions, your posts actually make me think twice, which is sometimes good I might add, before posting because I know you will come and tear me apart if my idea isn't 100% fair to every single player on the server. But in reality that's impossible to accomplish so I will have to live with it and give my disgusting suggestions anyways. If I didn't have someone ready to shove a knife down my throat maybe I'd be able to get some cool ideas out too.

Wow Odium! You've really adopted this "holier then thou" attitude! Just because one of us has 'GM' at the start of their character name doesn't mean their opinion is always right or that their opinion cancels out someone else's.

Please tell me where I said they wouldn't be fun or are not worth implementing...

I think you misunderstood my post and took it to say 'stfu', when really it's saying 'thanks for the suggestions, but lets try for some bigger ones that everyone will like or will have a bigger overall effect'.

Odium I'm not trying to insult you with what I say next so please don't take it the wrong way... Maybe my English isn't that awesome and my ideas don't always come out the way I think of them, so please refrain from beating me to a pulp when I write something that's not super clear or detailed and instead try asking me what I mean. You and some of the other staff have known me for a long time and you know very rarely am I trying to attack someone just because.

ive never said my opinions are holier than yours, but you try to make people stop postign ideas cause "there are other more important" ideas out there? this topic is so pointless i will stop monitoring it and please i have not said stfu but im sure close to do so. As you have flooded this forum with idiotic messages.

I'm not happy about this post...

For instance his carpet post isn't just geared around him, even if that was the intention, because its an item that only some people can make and thus can be sold which in turn adds to our economy.

Decorations and items are just as important to some people as your obsessive need for complete protection. At least he isn't talking about it in 3 different posts like someone else might.

In any case, every suggestion is heard here and every one of them hold the same value because no player is more important then the next. Please do not make other players feel less significant when trying to come up with suggestions. I don't care if someone suggests that we change the base color of doors for some reason because they are thinking about the shard and thats all that matters.

Well Odium that is certainly the impression you are giving off. So let me get this straight, my opinion isn't any less valued then yours, it's just idiotic on every subject I ever talk about? Thanks, this really makes players feel appreciated and/or welcome Odium... Trying to discuss something with you makes me feel like you're holding a grudge against me for all of time because I didn't invite you to my birthday party one year.

Shade you are absolutely correct, carpets don't affect just 1 person. However I do believe there are means to involve more then a select group of people, and this is what I think will help the shard the most.

As to my topics on the guard issue, I posted them as they came up. How do you convince someone that what you're saying makes sense? You give examples. So as more scenarios of bad guards arose, I shared them and was looking for feedback on them to see if anyone else thought it was retarded. And because showing more incidents of it might have helped change people's opinions on the matter. I'm sure if you asked the guy in my example of someone that was killed at brit bank when talking, they would agree with me that it's gay it happened and that it would be nice if there was something that could be done against it.

I'm glad to see that all opinions are equally weighed, but it seems all the ideas I come up with or suggestions I give to other people's ideas are given an answer that reads as 'no way in hell' and everybody else gets a 'yea this is freaking awesome, lets add it asap'. I try to think of myself as a person of logical reasoning, so I can understand coming up with some bad ideas, but every single one being bad? That's a stretch. Probability dictates if you try enough you will succeed and that if you like it someone else will. It would be nice if people gave some constructive criticism to try and improve on a base idea instead of the 'no way in hell' kind of answer.

I don't know how many times I can repeat myself, but I'm not trying to discourage people. I'm saying we need to try and come up with bigger and more badass suggestions. I fully agree that many little things help to give a great feel to a shard, but you still need means to attract people; a big glowing indigo sign saying "come play INX because we have this awesome <fill in the blank here>", like a vacancy sign on a motel lol.
