I think we should start a vent channel to talk for the server..so ppl can talk easier..you guys could even make it like Guilds get there own server and passwords and a public one...i think this is a very good idea that should be considered...

I think it's a great idea, an illegal one too:/ I'm not sure about that, but I think that ventrilo prohibits people to use the older server version. The never version can only be gotten if a "registerd" hosting company hosts the server.
This is just how I think it is, not 100% sure. If someone would look into it I'd be more than greatfull cause I think that its a good idea.

I checked this up and the answer is no because:
4.1.1 The Software may be used at any point in time only by
eight (8) Client Computers. You agree that attempting to
override the configuration requirements of the Software
shall be a breach of this Agreement, entitling Flagship to
immediately terminate the license granted herein and to
collect appropriate damages.

What I'm wondering is if this still applies to older server/client versions. As they used to be free without a cap. I think they controlled this by adding a caluse saying it would be illegal to use older clients.

9. UPDATES AND NEW VERSIONS. Flagship may, at its discretion,
make updates or new versions of the Software available to you
under such terms and conditions as may be required by Flagship.
In the event that any such updates or new versions of the
Software are made available to you, you agree to update, delete
from your computers and/or otherwise discontinue use of previous
versions of the Software. Unless otherwise agreed to in writing,
this Agreement shall apply to any updated or new version of the
Software issued by Flagship. However, Flagship may, at its
discretion, terminate this Agreement upon issuance of any new or
updated version of the Software and require that you to enter
into a new license or addendum covering the new or updated
version of the Software.
this is what they say aobut it. note the part that starts with "however", tho this is quite blurry im gonna send them an email asking if its possible.

there are other programs, teamspeak is one, i never tried them maybe you guys know a little more about them

Maka, speak to mitO i remember he got me a channel for free cause he knew someone who worked at this spanish gaming host or something on the new version of vent. Anyway I think its a great idea too
