How about an arena at the merc camp duel for 10 gold equipment provided like in a tourny. I think it would hugely help players new to this pvp get used to it without having to spend resources they don't yet have.

Probably not in the Mercenary camp, but maybe in a cave or something off to the side.
The mercenary camp is already pretty crowded right now and I can't imagine trying to duel with that many players macroing nearby.I'll see what the other staff think about a practice box or two.

Yeah I only said Merc Camp because thats where all the new players go to practice combat so it just seemed like it would fit there.

You already have duel arenas in the bottom of the casino. If you install this all the real big pvpers will camp this area and fight all day long for 10 gold coins and wont do shit any where else. People need to grow a pair and step out side of a GZ and fight OR join a guild and practice with the then go find more fights. If we keep giving free and easy stuff the next thing we will probly see is some damn tamers crying for a taming pit so they dont have to leave a GZ. We might as well install tram while we are at it.

Wrong. A supplied area like this will provide for noobs a place to learn pvp with people that are at the same ability level, without it gains are few and far inbetween. This can only help improve pvp in general as more people learn it and start to participate in the wild.

Wrong. Place like this will just be a hang out spot for free and easy pvp. People need to get out and learn it. Not fight in a box. Any real pvper will tell you that fighting in a box is not the same as fighting out in the field. *Installs TRAM*

wtf are you talking about, obviously it would have to be regulated in some way. You say people need to get out and learn it as if getting out is all is required to learning it. Developing and refining your pvp skills requires repetition, lots of practice. This requires scrolls and regs, coin that young players just dont have. Having an area like this will facilitate the kind of development needed to fast track pvp skills to the point where they can compete in events and the wild. This would enable new players giving them confidence to head out into the wild and bring more enjoyment to the game and pvp overall.

"fighting out in the field" is nothing but ganks. This is about letting people get used to how pvp and duels work. Why would all the top pvpers want to duel for 10 lousy gold? If I thought I was good I would want to duel someone for more gold...
Also its good to have good PvPers fighting there too. Who better to fight against if you are trying to get good?

Agreed with Lags and Lamb. My reason is the pvp here is so expensive, its nearly impossible to get accustomed to it without a full time uo job.
This is a great idea to allow some of us refugees practice your style.

Install this pit and ppl wont worry about farming for gold and weps as much since any one can walk in and "pvp" for 10 gold and you get supplyed with weps and armor. Sounds more like risk free pvp to me. Hurry and install tram since we dont want ppl to go work for their skills and talents.
