I thought I remembered awhile when I played back in the day, different kinds of weapons. Like the silver weapons are basically for the undead creatures... there also was dragon slayer, elemental slayer, daemon slayer.
Could this be another possibility?

We are planning on making the lower end craftable weapons more useful so people actually use them.

yup those would be it, i remember it being different and i know you couldn't make them before. as what i remember but those are sorta it. didn't see that because i didn't bother with bs. yet, ahha thanks tar.
