PVP * Self Supplied VS AutoSupplied - Different?! - Scare crow - 03-11-2012

Hi Everyone,

Very big Gap/Barrier with this servers PVP ... it varies depending on whether players use their own gear or autosupply gear which creates a major gap in the PVP economy.

Autosupply: Autosupply PVP consists of Spells (Spellbook), GHeal Scroll, Magic Reflect Scroll, FS Scroll, Light Scroll, Gheal Pots, Mana Pots, Refresh Pots)

NON-Autosupply: Spells (Spellbook), GHeal Scroll, Magic Reflect Scroll, FS Scroll, Light Scroll, Gheal Pots, Mana Pots, Refresh Pots) WITH THE ADDITION OF -
Players poisoning their weapons mid-fight, Heal Scrolls, Poison Scrolls, Paralize Scrolls ...

This creates a MAJOR difference in the PVP and an enormous ISSUE! I decided to bring this up because we NEED to have 1 style of PVP. 1 specific CONSISTANT style of PVP that we can call IN PVP and not 3 different random types with holes and inconsistancies for all.

I say we make these changes and ensure that PVP is balanced when using Autosupply or your own gear. There is no "IN PVP" ... There are too many different ways to duel which makes it inconsistant and un-interesting.

Please share your thoughts ...

This is for voting, where's the voting! I like both, the self supplied tournaments mean you have a chance to win something whereas the nonsupplied means its just practice.

I dont think supplied vs non supplied makes a huge different in who wins though. The great pvpers are likely to do well in either.

I would argue that the different types of PVP makes it more interesting because the style is slightly different (for instance you can poison weapons in self-supplied). The fights also seem much faster that way. I like doing both and will continue both.

Variety is the spice of life, I think if every tourney was the same it would be pretty dull after a while. If you have a specific suggestion (e.g. adding/removing a certain type of gear from the automated tournies) that would make more sense. Having only 1 kind of tourney from now until forever doesn't make sense.

For the record staff do not have access to special gear, dueling arenas or whatever else you imagine we have, and that is why almost all the staff are appalling at pvp (sorry guys Wink ). If a member of staff becomes good at PvP then it's totally off his own back, staff accounts are not used for the convenience of the staff member's player account. I'm sure if someone on the staff used their account to help themselves in any way Taran would drop kick them in the balls.

Perfect, I have Edited/Corrected my original post as I must have written my point incorrectly. I was not trying to blame any staff of cheating..

Back to my point. One style of PVP.

Okay, are you saying you want us to only ever run 1 kind of tournament? I don't really understand. If you make a specific suggestion it's a lot easier for me to address it...

If you're saying we should pick 1 type of PvP that we are balancing things around then I can tell you it's going to be the world PvP. The arena can be balanced much more easily by changing/restricting the gear used.

No. I'm saying.. Host all the events that are being hosted now. The events are fantastic! I am not asking for 1 type of event.

I am stating that there are 2 different types of PVP on this server. There is no TYPE of PVP. If you are in an Autosupplied Event.. you use different spells/skills/weapons/potions than you would if you are NOT using event gear. That's all I'm saying... I LOVE CTF, Deathmatch, REP, REG, Bomberman, Death by Dice.. Monster Bashes.. you name it. I think we should have even MORE events but.. lret's not get started on that.. it's probably just my Timezone...

I am just referring to the fact that Autosupply vs NON-Autosupply are differenty types of PVP and they MIX in certain tournaments which is not ... Consistant. There is a GAP in the PVP system.

We could add the scrolls and pots that people use outside the arena to the event gear (e.g. poison scrolls, para scrolls etc.), that would be one way of closing the gap as you describe it. Not sure how Taran will feel about that, but he may be ok with it. Is that the kind of solution you had in mind?

This is certainly an idea. You definately understand my suggestion. Once we balance the PVP and we know what direction we are going in .. I say we just need to make sure that both Self-Supplied + Auto-Supplied have the same ressources available. I am just very big on the whole "consistancy" thing as we have to keep in mind ... there are new players joining every single day .. if they ask how the PVP works on IN .. right now ... we would have to explain a few different ways. I feel there should be 1 unique PVP that we can promote and be known for!

I've made these event pads long time ago. The ones with deadly poison potions, poison scrolls, heal scrolls etc. I was suggesting to use them at automated tours. Taran, however, didn't agree. He said that we should keep the tours as simple as possible since it's automated and scheduled. I think my pad could've been used for staff-held supplied tours though.


Nothing in the world stops you from practicing both styles. The automated tour is every eight hours and the duel stones are opened all the time.
