Do you mean hosting a sphere server or "playing" on a sphere server? Both works for me and I'm using win 7 64 bit too.
Works fine on this server as well which is hosted on RunUO but emulated into feeling like sphere (which means no sphere bugs, no cheats, way more advanced scripts).

Yeah I just downloaded the
2009 56b prerelease.
Extracted to C:\Sphere, configured the .ini file to point to UO properly and made the correct config files (sphereacct, etc, it's all in the
wiki) then set compatibility to win xp sp3 and it worked fine.
Running on win7 64 bit.

Just FYI: We run on RunUO, not Sphere. Not sure if that will influence which one you want to install. I assume you're wanting to log in to play around with how things work or test out hues, build statics, etc.
