Lately I've been fishing up different colored nets and I was wondering whats the purpose of them? They have the same name "a special fishing net" but do they do anything different? Because I've used them with no significant result...

You know I've wondered this myself ever since I got my first one as a player oh so long ago. It seems that the script occasionally just creates a randomly colored net, but as far as I know they're not useful for anything but novelty or decoration.
There *are* some colored nets that do special things, but they also will have a different name.

I got a purple/pink one yesterday but from killing waterspirit and its called "Mystic fishing net"
