I think you should gain tactics from parrying. It makes sense, you gain it from the other combats but not from yielding a shield and blocking a weapon. Doesn't that take tactics to do something like that? Plus with tactics being one of the harder skills to gain I figured it can't hurt.

Whether you're training parrying against a monster or another player, you should be hitting them back and gaining tactics because of this. Since you have a shield in one hand (training parrying) and a weapon in the other (training mace fighting, swordsmanship or fencing) or no weapon (training wrestling) since you're attacking back you should be gaining tactics.

You can not hit, heal and parry at same time in a macro. My point is to gain tactics while parrying, considering it is a combat skill and you should gain tactics while doing so. I think this needs to be changed.

Thats really make some sense and for exemple:
You want to train healing with a fight chiken as exemple, you let the chiken atack you but never hit back if you could gain tatics by parring you just need to hold a shield to gain both healing, tatics and parrying.

True, that would be helpful. But recently I found even if you're in peacemode and get attacked by a monster you'll attack back. Taran said this is normal though so fighting a chicken even without a weapon you will probably kill it.

Not if you have the right macro, Theo trained normal chikens in the past without kill them by letting they atack he, and we trained our fight chiken for the torny last weeks without any problem.
All about right macro, just need some line with toogle war/peace and in the end use bandeid.

Yeah you should definately gain tactics from parrying.

Tactics - imported_Muto - 07-24-2009

Its a good idea though but it cant be implemented, because if this is changed you can make 4 chiken atack you and you will gain x4 tactics faster and since tactics its related with the others combat skills it won't be fair Big Grin

hmm, what about implementing it and making tactics gain slower?

Tactics - imported_Ryuuku - 07-24-2009

Now you are trying to make more people complain about skill gaing specially a pvp one. Let it as it is!
