Keep the weapon difficulty where it is, that's fine, but for platemail the exceptional rate is ridiculous. It's been taking ~500 ingots to make a full exceptional set, which rules out basically all the armor types at the top. Since there is Xtreme Gear that is just as good as sapphire, plz pls plix add the legendary hammers back for GM smiths and boost the exceptional rate on these platemails.

I made a bunch of armors today. The rate of success/exceptional is pathetically low. It took me 12 attempts making silver gloves to get an exceptional piece. I failed daemon steel arms/legs twice each. Why should smiths spend 3 straight weeks of thier lives busting their asses to get the resources and smithing not even to be able to make platemails, let alone exceptionally?

I cant remember exactly and Im to much bored to log in now to look into it, But If I remember well some pieces are 17% expct chance and ever 60/65 normal, like chest or legs not sure.
So I dont know if it work that way but its like a chance in 6 to make an excpt and half chance to do normal. After a long way to gm bs its very sad seeing its the basical thing to do on bs and you still dont got good chances on it.
I remember I used more than 400 verite ingots and still dont get a full excpt
.Seeing you need like 130 to do a normal one without fails if you luck. So its like 3/5 armor to get an excpt.
You can say "At last you have alot armors now", But like rabbi did 12 gloves to get one excpt, prob more 4 for each other part if luck to get a full expt armor, so all you have is alot of parts and not alot of armors or worse your ingots ended and its still missing the leg or the chest.

Also something else to think about, you're looking at on average 500-600 igs to do a full exceptional set. But like, say sapphire and adamant, those are so freaking rare that making a full exceptional set, even for people who do nothing but mine and smith all the time, is nearly impossible. With 300 igs you could prolly get a set with like 53-54 ar, but really, you can buy a 58 AR set of blue extreme for 140k, so why bother? True you cant repair it, but you can just junk them and they end up being cheaper in the long run. Or you may as well just make a full exceptional oceanic or daemon steel set, there absolutely no point in trying to do a set of saph or adamant with current fail rates.

I think 85/90+ chance on normal and 40+ on excptional would be nice.
Maybe a bit less dont know, but we deserve it for the time and enforce we put into gm bs.

Yea, this is much more reasonable for platemail. Smithing took foreverrrrrr and 90reg/40except would be much better.
Also, I made 14 elven bows today and only 1 was exceptional. Took 30 attempts... what the hey :/. Some of these crafting rates are awful
