The Love Casino - imported_Jiraiya - 01-13-2009

The city of Britain was bright and colourful, alive with people and all manner of odd creatures. Daemons walked the streets with vampires and people alike. It seemed as if the chaos which destroyed Jiraiya’s home world had spread to here as well. But oddly enough the inhabitants of this place had thrived in this environment and merged these new elements into their society.
As Jiraiya meandered through the streets he came to a medium sized wood building with a large gathering of people outside. Several of them shouting such things as, “This is a perversion of nature and a mockery of our great city!” And, “Get out filth mongers!” Interest firmly peaked he canvassed the building to find a side door along the far wall, breathing deeply he entered. What he saw before him was to say the least, baffling.

A crowd of several people and daemons whooped and hollered loudly at a brightly lit stage; upon which stood a Daemon wearing a pink sash but little else, and a very frightened looking llama. It would not be hard to guess the content of this most auspicious theatre show, but creating any sort of visual imagery for you would be extremely explicit.

“Give it to him hard Paulie!” An oddly dressed man in a silver wide brim hat shouted from the front row. Loud squeals filled the theatre and everyone cheered happily. Some fifteen very entertaining minutes later the show ended and some of the patrons headed out through the throngs of naysayers. Jiraiya walked to a corner with a barrel of ale and filled himself a tankard, snow began to form and frost the metal mug, chilling the ale within. He drank deeply, feeling refreshed and somewhat less nauseous from the show.

Jiraiya turned to find the odd fellow in the hat standing just behind him in line. He nodded once to the man and moved to walk away. “Hey friend if you wouldn’t mind.” The man called over Jiraiya’s shoulder while pointing to his own filled tankard. Jiraiya extended a finger and touched the edge of the mug which also frosted over. The man grinned, “That’s a nifty trick I’d say. I haven’t seen you around here before, I’m Lederoil, I’m the director for the live shows here.” Jiraiya smiled and shook his hand. Lederoil pulled back after a moment and rubbed his hands together to warm them. “I’m Jiraiya; I just arrived in town and have been seeking work. I thought this might be my kind of establishment.” Lederoil laughed, “Well it seems you have met the right man! It just so happens that, due to ownership rights of this current establishment, and the...” He motioned to the mob of angry citizens outside the doorway. “Well those who do not appreciate our brand of entertainment. I have been forced to aquire a new venue, which has left me in need of a bartender, and I think your trick might be just the thing to make us some serious revenue! However, you would have to travel to the distant Jhelom Islands. My new establishment sits to the east of the bank, on the south side of the great Arena.”

“Sounds alright, when can I start?” Jiraiya inquired after downing the rest of his ale. “Immediately, get your things together, we can leave after I collect the profits from the show.” Lederoil replied after finishing his own tankard and slamming it down on the table. “Well I’ll meet you at the docks, I have no possessions to gather, but there’s someone I must seek here before I leave Britain.” Lederoil nodded to Jiraiya who nodded back then snuck off through the side door once again.
