I think that Xtreme armor should be either eliminated from the game or the armor value should be lowered. By having an armor that can be obtained from hunting (easily I might add) it really hurts mining and blacksmithing. Mining and blacksmithing become useless when the best level of armor is easier to get from hunting then mining. I think that it makes other armors useless. Why should someone spend x amount of hours playing to mine a set of sapphire then to hunt for a lesser amount to get Xtreme? Also people who gm mining and blacksmithing should be at a greater advantage than someone who just hunts. Make mineable armors more valuable than hunting armors. Make the value of ingots and craftable armors worth something.

It's just another option for people to get their tourney gear. People will still want the GM smithy sets for personal style, etc. One could also argue, that going out and hunting monsters that can kill you easily, watching out for gankers, and hoping to get the exact drops you need to complete the set is a lot harder than having Razor hit a mining macro in a guarded mine, then crafting the full set once you've AFK'd enough ore.
I don't think either should be removed, but that they should be equal in terms of maximum armor.

Also, its for tourney gear, ppl will still gm mining and blacks so they have armors to daily gank and walking around.!

First off, I'd like to say your logic is flawed when you refer to AFK mining. Is it illegal. Is there not a gump that pops up to resource gatherers ,prompting them for a valid response? Miners put more effort into getting a certain armor than hunters do. And go ahead argue there are gankers and monsters can kill you etc. However, using inductive reasoning we see a lot more Xtreme Armor than Sapphire armor. And why is it that we do see more Xtreme armor? The most probable reason is that because it is easier to get than sapphire armor or something of that level. (It takes mining skill to get ore, it takes blacksmithing skill to create items as well as the fact that you can fail creating the armor) It is very easy to hunt, and if I were to take a survey, which I won't, it would be clear that more players would find getting Xtreme armor easier than a craftable armor in that same armor level.

Although I agree that Xtreme gear needs to be nerfed a little bit (it shouldn't have more armor class than mytheril) it is still lootable.

Agreed

I haven't farmed it myself yet, but one of the hassles of getting the old Xtreme armor was getting plate to actually drop. The drops were littered with ringmail, chainmail, crappy helms, etc. Getting more "crap drops" increases the demand and lowers the supply for the good tourney gear.
Lowering its total durability might be nice. Good armor that breaks about twice as fast as a good piece of BS crafted gear.

Lowering durability is a step towards the right movement. However, I still believe that more progress needs to be made and Xtreme Armor should have no where near the amount of armor level as any of the 50s. Probably as much as black rock but thats it.

Yea, honestly, I don't want to see an all-out nerf fest. It seems every time there is a way to do something easier than something else, even if by a little bit, it gets uber nerfed back to the point where it's useless. I know that things that have been reduced in value are being balanced back, but it's still a shame to see something get poofed altogether.
What should happen is, the durability of Xtreme gear should be slightly (not 50%) less than GM crafted items. Over time, it should decay from battle and not be repaired to it's original splendor (I'm sure this is already in place?
).
But, for a small fee, I'll be willing (as a GM smith) to do my best to get your Xtreme gear back to it's best brilliance! (Hey cmon, I gotta get a plug in somewhere
).
