Well, its been quite some time since I played UO the last time. Several years actually. And I just cant seem to remember how I do to change my grandmaster title in the paperdoll. I tried lowering the one I want to have (so title changes once I train a point in it again), locking everything else, but one skill that I got on "up" to gain skill. However, the one I put on "down" isnt lowering. Is this due to the fact we dont have a skillcap?
Am I way out in the wrong direction now? Is it done in a completly other way? Someone please help me. :>

No questions are stupid questions, it's good that you ask :]
Do you really mean that you would want to LOWER a skill in order to get another title? My suggestion would be that you join a guild, because when you are in a guild the guildmaster can change your title without any skill-loss, which is a lot better in my opinion.
Go for the guild option if u ask me, way better than having to lower skills! ;p Since you can have all skills GMed here at IN-X you don't really need to lower any skill in order to raise another one, so just GM everything and get in a guild, that's my suggestion :]

Well, I meant that if I have say Eval int and anatomy for example at 100. Both of em. And I want to be grandmaster healer instead of scholar, id drop 0.1 point in anatomy. Then raise 0.1 point, so I again have 100 skill in both, but now with a new title no?
That was my plan anyway. But I am not noticing any skill drop
And guilds are overrated

If im not mistaken, it's just not possible to lower skills here in INX
Havagrim Wrote:And guilds are overrated
So are grandmaster titles

Actualy the titles arent as youre used to cause if youre gm anatomy itôll say grandmaster healer in the paperdoll. for eval youll be grandmaster magery and it goes on like that. Ive always had the title grandmaster healer and im not even gm healing although i have about 15 other gm skills.
I thought lowering skill was supposed to be disabled, we had a topic on this awhile back i think, cause gm miners wanted to lower their mining in order to get more iron.

GM anatomy says GM healer yes, but it's suppose to be like that. GM eval int shouldn't say "Grandmater magery", it should say "Grandmaster Schoolar". If it says Grandmaster Magery then we'll seriously have to look over our title-scripts, because that's not how it was at sphere ;p

That's probably why it's disabled. And also so that you can't "gm a skill" several times to get many "GM-rewards" from the same skill.

Well sir, at least at Sphere - and most likely at IN-X too - there's some skills that will always "go first" in the paperdoll. For example GM Eval int (which should give you the title "grandmaster schoolar") stays above almost all other GM-skills at sphere, except for GM alchemy and 1-2 others. I dunno exactly how it is at IN-X at the moment, but since we're replicating sphere it either is already like that, or will be ;p (unless the admins say otherwise).

Is this really a big problem though? We should focus on other things, most of us are running around with grandmaster healer in the paperdoll so you wont feel alone cause thats what you will end up with most likely.
And yea Hate im sure its disabled to lower skills due to be able to get multiple gm rewards, didnt cross my mind first hehe.

Uhm, ofc this isnt more important then other stuff. This is low priority stuff. Still tho. For a personal feeling id enjoy to be able to choose what my paperdoll says. Even tho it really dont matter much.
And as far as i know, during my UO life it has always been "Grandmaster Healer" at 100 Anatomy. And scholar for eval int etc.. That wasnt the point tho. I just asked a question, and now I know Ill have to live my life as a scholar hehe.
Thanks for the replies.

it was the same way on sphere, it confused me at first, but it is the same everywhere on sphere and runuo shards.

hmm, maybe if we later implement a little list that can be accessed that indicates all the skill you have GM'ed and you masy choose to be called any of those skills.
Example:
Grandmaster Swordsman
Grandmaster Miner
Grandmaster Hidder
Grandmaster Tactician
Then boxes next to each so we can Tick off the one we choose to have under our paperdoll. Just a suggestion.
