lol okan is going around saying he is maka and saying he is closing the shard in a week. dont believe him and give your shit away

Isn't impersonating a staff member of ANY licensed game an unlawful action that can get you sued?

Shouldn't impersonating a staff member be a bannable offense for here?

For records and to make it easier on staff, post a screenshot if you have one. Tell us the time it occured (with your timezone displayed) as well as the date and day it occured.

scam - imported_kitehimuro - 01-09-2008

Nah, not sued, that would be a bit over-the-top :p But breaking the EULA, which means account termination, in layman's terms, BANHAMMER~ Big Grin

scam - imported_Slaquer - 01-09-2008

This entire shard is breaking the EULA for playing UO on unofficial gaming servers :o Okan breaking a shard rule, be banned, oh well ;/

scam - Galens - 01-09-2008

Don't players have the right to create, host and modify their own creations? I never heard of hosting your own modified version illegal before. Why wouldn't EA Games sue everyone building their shards then? Hmmmm.

scam - imported_Smurtle - 01-09-2008

Well, you're not a for-profit website/company, and you're not using the EA brand to market or sell under, so law suits would be out of the question really. You're just emulating. I could see some instances where people could be sought after but it'd never make it.

Of course its Ilegal to impersionate.
its was not the real okan though, we have managed to locate the real ''guy'' who impersionated owner makaveli, he created a fake char under ''okan'' name and started saying he was maka and talking about the shard going down etc

I have jailed this person which name cant be revealed until Owner Makaveli or Taran decides what to do with him themselves

scam - Galens - 01-10-2008

Then we should notify all players with exact names by ingame broadcast, in gamp gump, private messaging, as well as emailing that users with the same exact name should will have to choose an alternate name or alternate character to represent their character to reduce confusion.

We should then disable the ability to create exact same names in the shard
at least 1-2 weeks AFTER notices have been sent to those players.

scam - imported_kitehimuro - 01-10-2008

Well it was only a matter of time something like this would happen with all the similar-named people running around.

scam - imported_Nasir - 01-10-2008

It's legal per actual law... but illegal according to our rules and will result in him being banned if caught doing it.

the end
