Sure who cares, that's why a lot of americans are trying to get it close to their locations. A shard in America would mean a high ping for a lot of people from Europe, if I wanted a shard located in America with that kind of ping I would be playing hybrid or something.

Donating to pay for a server for a year is nice, but then what after a year?
I'm sure there's somebody who knows someone who knows someone..get my drift? If I was in Florida again I could host it free on a nice line but I moved..so eh.

I usually have nice ping to XS4ALL, but I don't mind if server will be moved to decent east coast host. EU people would ping a bit over 100, so not too big difference there and it'd be a bit closer for aussies. Gris and Wold should ping the servers elcid listed.

I got a ping of 97-102 to 64.34.160.92 and I'm in the EU...I have not seen such a good US ping before.
If we are moving the server to the US, the server we move too should be considered from a european perspective. Since the move will ensure that everyone in the US gets really good ping, no matter where, and that the AUS players will get a playable ping, the only "looser" here will be the EU players.
In short, pick the server according to the europeans ping, I think that everyone else will get lower ping no matter what.

ugh.. you ping 100~ to that IP and you still think there would be better ping overall in EU?
contradiction..?

I got a very rare connection, everyone else that I asked had higher ping. And no, it's not condradicting at all. What I said was that 100 is a great ping for a US host, and that we should pick the new server based with the EU players in mind.

Move the server to Germany, would be in the middle for Americans and Euros both, maybe we should do a poll and see the server population or something, but I definately think something should be done, 300+ ping is insane to play on and this is the shard I started on and will finish on one way or another.
