Habibi Jones Wrote:F*ck your *dood* nonsense I will kill you everytime I see you regardless of guard protection, just because of the fact that you use the term "doodz". RP all you want, but not everyone wants to enter fairy-land when they log in. An aside, keep insulting everyone besides RP'ers, makes for a very just argument on your part afterwards.

For the longest time I kept reading that a**holes posts about "doodz" this "doodz" that. The f*ck is a dood? Is a dood someone who plays UO that doesn't roleplay?

Get welded.
A dood is just someone who is typically younger, using emoticons and abbreviations, stuff like that. Generally thy are of low intelligence and say stupid things or grief etc. it's one of those Internet insults that gets used to mean different things.

doodz are also pre-occupied with marijuana and marijuana imagery.

so yes

- low intellect
- pre-occupation with marijuana
- silly character name
- consider their character to be an extension of their real identity rather than a character in an RPG

I didn't know about the weed aspect that's interesting. The name is good too. I think just as you are insulted by people using dood, role players are just as insulted when you mention a magical fairy land or whatever. It's really not that serious, I personally just would rather play that way that's why I'm on this game instead of wow or swtor.

Lags Wrote:Why can't you RP around players that aren't?

You don't even have to read what others are saying if you don't want to.

Besides, there are plenty of towns nobody ever goes to. If you can't RP around other people, go there and do it.

It helps stimulate a colorful and enjoyable aspect of the game. If there is a central location where people can RP it will help those who enjoy RP to do so, while promoting RP in those that might otherwise not do so. I don't think people should be punished for not roll-playing per se as long as they don't work to break the fourth wall for others who are enjoying it. If there is a location designated for RPing it will draw those in who RP and thus add to the dynamics of IN's environment.

My question is why would anyone be against the support of RP? If you don't do it, then bugger off and do whatever it is that you do and leave the RP to those who enjoy it.

Well after looking at the guild lists and if it requires to roleplay in that said guild or not there's about only 3 guilds of the 12 that are there that don't require RPing. So that's 70% of the shard that does RP duno how enforcing RP in a certain town with encourage much more players to RP when 70% of the shard is already RPing because there guild requires it :p

y u no know maths? uh dur

EDIT: Also, I wouldn't consider the Ghosts as role players. If I recall correctly, the last time I was at the SW Britain bridge I was paralyzed by a Ghost and walled in while they repeatedly typed "lol."

Ghost aren't role-players. They are hostile to RP. One of them said to me "ur roleplay is really pissing me off"

Role play should always be encouraged in my opinion. It's what this server was founded on over ten years ago and it it what drives the creativity of many staff members and players in general.

With that said, I dont think we should have a town where you "cant" type emotocons or lolz etc I think a town where rp is encouraged would be far more appealing. Back on IN1 I knew if I wanted to rp, I would go to Trinsic (they even made it unguarded above the bank so we Vampires could come rp a bit with folks who wouldnt normally leave the guards area).

I dont remember if you could be banned from Trinsic for not rping though. The rp playerbase made people feel inclined to rp just by doing their thing, which, in my opinion, is what our goal should be.

(oh and yes, ban sticks were awful for balance... plz dont implement them)

So yeah, I think an RP town sounds good. Lets get that going! Just make sure there is some way for reds to interact with folks too! PvP is fun and all, but being able to have an RP convo with folk would be nice lol thank goodness most of my neighbors in SH are happy to let me RP when we interact.

i agree that it should not be enforced. Rather, i think it is something players should take the initiative to do.

By the way...it wouldn't be too realistic RP wise if we allowed you murderous vampires to come into our city Smile

Creating an environment that encourages roleplaying - Ramza - 03-10-2012

I think RP wise it makes sense for Vampires to hang around outside of busy towns! I will start lurking around Trinsic to see if anyone comes by Smile.

Creating an environment that encourages roleplaying - Siren - 03-10-2012

I think vampires should be able to walk alley ways in disguise or something!
