All I said that is you can RP at your own free will anywhere in the world so I don't see why it would be needed to enforce RP in another town it shouldn't be pressured it should be done at free will.

The Free part we both agree on.
Only thing thats needed is some encouragment for the RPérs to gather and get together.

Can I be the mayor of the RP town?

Clearly the shard is a bit differen than original IN (every town was an r p town) which is fine with me. I know to get population you have to put up with doods. No one is disrespecting their way of play. I don care as long as the towns aren't filled with nonsense

My concern which may not be shared is that it will cause a segregation between role players and people who would rather not. Id like to see the whole server adopt it to some degree but that's not likely to happen.

You say your concern is that the shard will be segregated, yet these people are undesirable to you, and you have even dubbed them with a slur. You said you were concerned about your screen being flooded up with "nonsense" because you don't care for a way a person expresses himself.. You have stated that this group of people should conform across the board (while in town) to your particular style of play.

I'm new here, but there are also 200 other people, which according to the cross section this thread has provided, appear to be open to some sort of compromise... aside from providing a sweeping censorship of player conduct while within any town's border.

Again, no disrespect, I just wholeheartedly disagree with the point I perceive you trying to make.

To my mind, it's necessary to make one, or even two towns (except Britain) RP ones. Because at least it would spread the population to other parts of the world. I mean consistent existance in places apart from Britain. Cool

OR (!), with the help of RP players, we may build a city for RP with houses, roads, maybe even vendors. Not just placing statics on a chosen land, but letting people gather in a place and build them themselves (with little help of staff as building roads, trees etc.), playing as much RP as possible. That would make the RP component stronger and would help to create a good and friendly community.

not point doing new city when there is alot of old unused citys.. maybe edit an existing city for more rp type one...
there could be vendors with sometype of RP quests too.

I've posted at least three times since this one and you quote and respond twice to the same one?

Yeah, I agree. It's better to bring people to old unused cities than creating new ones. I'd help in rebuilding existing cities, if no one wants to do that, or has no time.

Why can't you RP around players that aren't?

You don't even have to read what others are saying if you don't want to.

Besides, there are plenty of towns nobody ever goes to. If you can't RP around other people, go there and do it.

Creating an environment that encourages roleplaying - Ramza - 03-09-2012

It's tough to keep any semblance of role playing if the other person is not. Role playing isn't an activity like Pvp. It's just keeping rl stuff out of the conversation and keeping to a character. Can be challenging around people saying lol and whatnot.

F*ck your *dood* nonsense I will kill you everytime I see you regardless of guard protection, just because of the fact that you use the term "doodz". RP all you want, but not everyone wants to enter fairy-land when they log in. An aside, keep insulting everyone besides RP'ers, makes for a very just argument on your part afterwards.

For the longest time I kept reading that a**holes posts about "doodz" this "doodz" that. The f*ck is a dood? Is a dood someone who plays UO that doesn't roleplay?

Get welded.

You're playing on a shard called "Imagine Nation." Did you not notice? Heck, the shard was originally founded with a heavy slant towards role playing. I'd also like to point out Ultima Online is a MMORPG. RPG stands for role playing game. When you enter the world you take on the role of another entity. Some people simply like to be immersed in this role and the world around them.

Seriously, what is with you asshats and your opposition to role playing? It's not like you're being forced to role play. If I want to cross Britain bridge I have to be prepared to be griefed by Prototype, Ghost, and the like. Just like if you entered the role play city you'd have to be prepared to role play. If you don't like it then don't go there, just like I don't go to Britain bridge.

What the heck is there to complain about? You've got seven automated events daily, and numerous other PvP oriented events hosted by GMs. That's all I ever see is PvP events. Unless you want to count that cluster**** that took place recently with the monster spawn near the casino, oh and the money being hidden. That last one shouldn't even be classified as an event. It was just a bored staffer.

Are y'all worried there won't be as many people readily available for you to harass ad nauseum?
