https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison

^That has a mining comparison for which cards are the best. AMD cards get higher Hash rates. Smile I just ordered a 6950 that I'm waiting on, but the USPS seems to have lost my package. >_<

Ah, after a couple of hours and 200 lines of code, I've come up with this:

http://in-uo.net/download/mINe.exe

It will generate the .bat file and run it based on the options you pick.

You can pick CPU, GPU or both. It also lets you set the number of cores to use, if you want it to be hidden or shown and your username.

Top section is just branding and statistics that update once a minute. Minimize/Close buttons also. It saves your settings on exit. Also, you can click the icon in the system tray to bring it back up again if you minimize it.

And now I relax.

I'll work on an instruction page tomorrrow. Developing stuff is fun. Smile

Updated mINe.exe so that it will detect if the bitcoin-miner.exe is running and give you the option to stop it if you launch if while the miner's already running. Also, fixed a bug that was causing the radio/checkboxes to show up as black text on black background... not sure why it wasn't doing it on my computer.

Also, has anyone else had problems with lag on their monitor while using the miner with the GPU? If I try running it on CPU, then it doesn't seem to lag my screen, but if I use the GPU it does.

I was using Poclbm (PyOpenCL bitcoin miner) for my GPU and have next to no system lag. If there's interested, I may get a guide for getting that going instead. I can leave that running and not even notice it, but the bitcoin-miner.exe makes me not want to use the computer. :/

On a side note, we're nearly out of the experimental phase and I'm thinking of setting up a shares to nickels conversion. To match it up roughly with the price to get one via donation, it would be about 1500 to 2000 shares, but donors also get other rewards, so I'm thinking one nickel per 1000 shares.

not bad for good pc owners Smile but who not have ati 5850 and more, its harder.
i lose more kwh in home, for me 1 day running pc with mining its 60-80 cent $, becouse my video can do only 40mhash/s

Yeah the only expense is the Electricity. Tongue That's why I was trying to make it so that people could mine in the background while they're online. Tongue Soon I'll have a 250+Mhash video card and my computer runs 24/7 because it acts as a server for a lot of crap, so I might as well use it for something :p

I added this file for people who are having system lag while using their GPU: http://in-uo.net/download/poclbm.zip

It should work by running the batch file inside, but you'll need to edit the path and the username. I don't have an automated setup for this one and probably won't since it's a larger file, but I can run this 24/7 on my home machine without noticing any lag at all even at full speed.

example Wrote:start /D "C:\miner\poclbm\" poclbm.exe -d 0 http://[email protected]_anon:[email protected]:8332

The -d 0 listed above is the device that you're using. If you only have one card you wouldn't need to change it. You can run poclbm.exe from the command prompt and it will list the devices that are currently available. If you have more than one, you can run two instances with -d 0 in one and -d 1 in the other.

Man, I've got a lot of information in this thread to condense down into a page that makes sense.

http://in-uo.net/miner

^I'm using this instead of the old stats thing now. The left will have stats and an in-browser miner that can be stopped.
The stats use AJAX to refresh itself automatically without affecting the rest of the page. An unbelievable fight to get that working... >_<
The right side will have instructions and download links later. Smile Slow and steady.

So has this generated any donations?

I have an i7 2600k, 2x GTX580 SLI, 12gb of Memory thats on 24/7 and idle most of the time....
