how about making the sapphire/emerald dragons drop a special jewel which you can implent on weapons or ars to give it a special "glow", nothing that adds special powers, only a cool addition to weapons or ars

Banking in house could possibly be more dangerous only if:
1. You aren't in chaos/order guild.
2. Your guild isn't in war.
3. You aren't red.
And even if you are blue and not in guild I still think that bunch of naked guys will more likely FS you in Britain than somebody who know where your house is will wait you right beside it.
It can't be more dangerous just because you will always have a choice to go in town or recall to your house.
And even if someone will find out where your house is, what will stop you from buying extra house, small one for example, and banking there?
And as soon as people will find it too you will just move it somewhere else.
Also pits are there just to promote ganking, to inspire people jump in town after a guy with good armor/weapon. And we discussed it before, if shard will ever get many players noone will have anything against removing Pits, but before that we need them just to keep ganking going, and not only on bridge. Not to mention that when shard has low population without pits it just looks dead, especially for reds.
If something is carebear on our server then it's our insane guards and NPC's that instantly call them on you.
And I think if this going to be implemented killing someone near bank will be just as hard as to loot the house. Because you have to know where his house is, you will have to wait the guy there, and you lose chance to randomly catch him in town. And I believe people on IN lost their supplies/loot after the hunt countless times, I also remember loads of houses being looted on XUO, but it was a WAY easier to catch someone in tourney gear after duel stones when he goes to ocllo/britain to bank his stuff...
I just don't get how you Shade could like it. I know you played on IN and so on but still. Because to me it's just lazyness and in future
if we'll get people it will also be carebear feature.
Quote:I definitely think this should be done, just because xuo was the only shard of all time to not have a bank at house's or gh's shouldnt stop us.
There were a lot of servers without banking in house. I bet there more servers without banking in house than ones with it.
I also don't think something has to be implemented just because some guy never played a server where this feature wasn't in place.

you guys are making uo into a whole different game this is another reason why people don't want to join it's just to complicated
pit's is not carebare there are pads used for ganks, house banking is carebare because guildwars you can attack from a city and it's hard to find houses

lmao house banking is being considered? wow IN IS carebare, they too scared to lose their precious items. so scared they can't recall to an empty town to bank.
house banking is just another disappointment.

The reason I like house banking was because I was able to break into many houses because of it. IN style house banking required you to bank from the house sign outside of your door. Since this was the case I would often camp out someone's house who I knew was hunting or buying up regs or even sometimes knew someone restocking their vendor and attack them if they were being cautious about their door being open to the point where I couldn't just stealth past. Normally in such a situation people are taken so much by surprise that they tried to flee into their home thinking they'd be safe since they only had to go 3 tiles. I'd say 50% of the time I got in and was able to get quite a bit of loot inside their house or at the very least kill someone while they were banking or restocking a vendor.
When people think they are safe near their own home they are less likely to think clearly about defense when they can enter their house and regroup their composure to attack once they assess the situation.
Towards the end of IN1 I was sharing a place with a friend and someone did this to him and we lost well over a mil in supplies and I still support this. It was a good way to take the fighting and evilness beyond the designated red towns and bridge fights.
There is nothing carebear about this feature though. You don't bank in safety, you have no guards protecting you, you have a risk of losing more than what is just on you. Lots of people still banked in town too so it didn't make bank areas ghost towns. Its basically the same as going to an empty town to bank really, the only difference is if you don't think when being taken by surprise, you could lose big. Keep in mind that the house banking being discussed here does not allow you to bank from inside your house.
As for the pits, well I never liked them. I much rather have players go afk in town and get killed while afk because I can't stand knowing there is somewhere safe to sit and hang out, I hate safe zones. I understand that the pits are made to increase ganking and whatnot but they really don't typically. Seriously from what I see, and I watched players for countless hours as staff, this works just as often as someone opening up a gate trap. For the most part it does little to promote ganking and even less to promote actual fighting.
About the guards, I hate one hit kill guards. I think they should have ev speed and do 2-3 hit kills personally. They should tele to the scene and chase you down, not bash you 150 times even though they 1 hit kill. This is definitely something I'd be willing to change without hesitation, if Taran approved.

lmao carebare server.
the reason for no house banking is so people go to a bank in town, thus chaos and order guilds are always going at it cuz they can't just recall to their house to bank.
shade u should really stop trying to make everything how it used to be on IN, seriously this is the biggest carebare feature ever. makes me laugh ur even considering it, what's next? lets bank in pits ffs.
btw Balthor U DON'T EVEN LOG ON LOL, U DON'T PLAY EITHER.
ps: balthor i got ur ip of u trying to impersonate me elsewhere, ur plan of trying to get me banned is not going to work and I hope u get banned from here for what you have done..

Obviously you just feel like arguing, you clearly didn't even read my post.
Anyone who plays UO on a shard with under 100 people knows that it is far too easy to bank unnoticed anyway. Not to mention blue players are way too safe with the current guards and such. If there was only one or two banks in the world than your point would be valid but there are over 10 and if you want to avoid someone to bank it is easy enough.
Basically, you want to hunt down and kill someone who you know is out and about. They will eventually need to bank. Now you can camp out a bank or keep checking each one, though you might miss them if you recall to each one over and over and camping one gives you like a 10% chance to find this person when they actually go to bank. However, if they could bank from their house sign and you know where their house is you have a much better chance of catching them.
I know you will keep arguing about this just because you like to argue but at least this time, can you come back with an intelligent comment?
p.s. I was told old xuo allowed trading in the pits, did you complain about that as carebear when you played there?

Honestly i remember from IN even with banks at houses I still would keep most of my stuff in my house as many others did. Personally it doesnt matter if banks are accesible by house signs or not to me. However I do think that we should be able to have guild banks inside of guild houses only because regardless of them being inside people would still have to open up the door to get in and that is a easy way to get inside. They would have no chance to bank there stuff if you were attacking them plus anything in the guildhouse would be open loot. I dont get what the difference is between a guild chest and a guild bank box personally. If bank boxes arent allowed in guild houses then why are guild chest....which is almost the exact same thing if you think about it, except everyone in the guild can access this box. Thats the only difference.

Yea, I understand that it might increase house looting, also people will more likely explore the world to find the houses. On old servers I remember brass signs used to be named like the house owner if he didn't change it, so it was a way easier to find out where somebody lives. Now when we have countless houses in the world and noone of it named like the owner, it won't be as easy as it used to be. Not to mention that IN1 was first server for a lot of people, so many of them didn't have experience of being looted. Now almost everyone knows what to do when you come to your house. I'm sure most of people always detect hidden and lock items down. I personally have a habbit to detect hidden even though our population is very low and all my goods are in bank, so you can only clean my house up of the junk if you'll get inside. I don't even lock anything there. And maybe it wouldn't make bank areas ghost towns if we had decent population, but now when there no people at all it would just spread rest over the world. Also it would take out penalties of red people, they will no longer bank in certain towns. I'm red and I still don't really support it
And as I already said what will stop people from buying extra house, small one for example and bank there? Once you seen someone while banking you just move the house elsewhere. You might not bank in guarded area or in safe zone, but when you bank in unknown spot you're still in safety. Yeah you can pay for this feeling if someone will wait for you. But it will happen VERY rarely or even never on so low populated server.
About the pits. Yea its safe zone and people going afk there, but otherwise many of them would log out. Reds would stay in their houses or log out, so it's not so bad actually. Also when I use term "ganking" I mean any kind of fighting out of duel stones/tourney area. Killing poor miner with 3 allies or doing 2v5 in ocllo it doesn't really matter, so ganking can also be actual fighting. And that the pits aren't promoting ganking, well problem actually isn't in pits itself. It's about the people. We never had many "fighters" and if someone doesn't want to fight noone will make him to. You ofcourse can say that you can go and search for the people in the dungeons or something but it's always funnier to fight vs someone who wants it also and knows how to Pits works perfectly as a meeting spot... People who searching for PvP, not for poor miner I mean, but for challange will soon or later come to duel pits and meet eachother. Most exciting fights were planned in pits. There you find a partner, there you ask other people if they want to go 2v2 or whatever, there you provoke opponents to follow you in ocllo and so on. Also if you see many blue players staying in pits it's a good thing to jump to the bridge pad infront of them. It's very good chance that they'll come there, ofcourse if they feel like PvPing...
And yea, trading was allowed in XUO pits and because multiclient was allowed too I used a mule on another account as my bank in duel pits for tourney gear
He was online always along with my main character. However I never seen anyone else doing this. Not to mention I twice paid for it when I confused clients and run in ocllo with my mule instead of main character. I had no macro on mule, so I ofcourse lost everything...
Also guildchest and bankbox are completely different things. You don't share all of your items with guildmates, so you won't put gold after the hunt to the guild chest.. Thats exactly why we have guildchests but no personal chests.. Becase even with guildchest you still have a chance of being looted, if you will accidently take wrong person in the guild.

I logged in some days ago, also my online time is bigger than yours. So I don't see how exactly I have no say.

There are more than a handful of both red and blue towns with 1-2 banks in each. All tolled, if someone really wanted to avoid players and still have access to a bank there are loads and loads of places they could go and would never be found.
Enable house banking, there's no reason not to.

So why make it easier? are ppl too damn lazy?
u say house looting, but u 4get ppl can move their house once it is found out. Not only that but most people know what to do to prevent getting looted. I would know since me and tech tried (and sometimes succeeded) house looting a lot of people and most of the time people are cautious and know what to do to make sure they don't get looted.
Not only that but having banks in towns means that after hunting ppl HAVE to recall to a town to bank their money/items which gives more of a chance for ppl to disturb that process (if they are in chaos/order guilds).
Also when ppl go to a bank and u see them recall u can guess where they might go (guess the dungeon) in an instant. Plus having banks in towns promotes more activity between people, which is essential on low playerbase shards.
