Trick to the patcher? You'll have to have the correct paths set. That's about all there is to it.

Just a side note, i once played on Imagine Nation before, and reading how the server prevents players making multiple characters(By stopping the connection) it may be why this is happening, i cant remember my account though.
Its just a theory.
Did you play on this version of IN? If not, then you won't have an issue with making an account.
Do you have antivirus/firewall software?
