Well, some people aren't fond of forming new alliances, especially if it's as big as seperating players on the shard on the two alligments. That would mean that you practically lost the oportunity to attack 40-60% of the PvP-orriented players on the server. So considering there are times when there is no one to kill even when you attack practically everyone(the Pvpers I mean, not people that mine or hunt) as soon as you'll start to look at alligment from the RP standpoint you'll get twice less action, a serious blow on people who likes to gank\duel the most ;p
Some people that played during past 4-5 years already have complexes regarding this issue;p Sure there are few shards that have good online count, but most of them had 30-60 people online on average, and thats where you really cannot allow yourself to form a lot of alliances or you'll be staying afk most of time, since theres nothing to do.
Though I imagine thats what actually gets new players excited of the PvP first, some new players that never tried it might have problems trying to kill someone alone, while with the help of unknown but experienced players they actually can... Then they might want to join tournaments and stuff

This exactly. I remember and still see a lot of people who have no PvP experience at all. It was an easy way for them to experience some of the mechanics in a group. Even if they weren't the best they still contributed to the fight and when someone they were targeting actually died they could feel the thrills of victory. This doesn't need to be implemented in the world, it would work as an event too. Kingdom wars type of thing. I saw a post about event suggestion recently but I think it might have turned out to be too much work or just got buried under all the PvP system arguements. Idea was brought up by Redorb in this topic. It would be great to see such an event, except it should be quicker than 4-5 hours. I doubt many people have that much time in their hands just for an event.

You could make some kind of reward for members of order that do good and chaos who do evil. Like smoke said order can attack and kill other order members with impunity, and that's not very orderly.

What is order? What is your definition of order? What if our key principles do not match and stuff?...
Yeah I myself just love the shield looks and it wouldn't be that harmful change but I wouldn't want to be forced to go chaos... Though, the bonus system sounds good to me.
Altho the rewards shouldn't be .added, or some people will abuse it. I'd vote for gold reward if you kill opposite member , like 1000gp which will be taken from his bank
But well, I don't think people will like the idea;p

If the shield is the reason to pick order when you are actually chaos then the shield reward should be changed to a pick whichever you want.

just so this post doesn't get booted to the guild forum i am not saying you should join Vanguard, an Order guild based in Trinsic with a compound and lots of shiny gold pieces filling up our pockets. No! Join any order guild. I can't name any. But if i could i would.
My point is players that are new to the server if you read this i suggest you consider being one of the good guys (in an RP sense. Chaos players are not bad people) and join Order.
Are you Order? You ask for order but you wont join yourself?

There's many ways to look at this really, it's not based on one thing about defending britania, you can be order peace holder of the peekays or PvP. Order can really mean anything, just because it was like that IN1 doesn't mean their can't be new memories or it has to be that way because it was like that back then :/ I understand it was an old thing back on IN1 but if you look at the PvPers here or ganks compared to what they were on IN1 you'll notice a big difference, ganking everyone just hides in brit it's getting pretty boring quite fast =s
How can people who hide in brit and are suppose to not care about items when they die hide in their town and not protect it ;p? that seems like they should be neutral rather than order then as well

I'd love to make VV a bit more "orderly" but at this time we've got a few neutral guilds that help out reds and or attack my guild, R.I.P/Pure/Legion even the once order guild DOOM has attacked us, when they've had the chance to, namely when they have reds around to help them out. Why on earth would I want to protect these guilds? I do remember those days of the Order and Chaos fights, everyone that's still around from that period on IN1 would agree, it was awesome. But I honesty feel we'll never get close to that point on here, unless the GMs would step in somehow. Which I'm sure most people would be against. Also guild alignment doesn't matter when it comes to order/chaos shields, I just tested it. As order i could equip my chaos shield.

Is there any real strong order guilds out there that can take on the chaos? You'd think with this many people on a shard there would be..... If not, Id be willing to help out once I get skilled in the PVP here. I've been watching some of the pks here and I've only been impressed by a few so far too be honest. I'm sure there is still a bunch that I have yet to see, but I'm sure we could make it even amongst ourselves.....

As Dalz said, the shield argument is invalid since you can use both shields when aligned chaos or order.
