That sounds so freaking awesome! just imagine the opotunities! haha.. like, i want to swarm dragons with rats and bunnies! xD .. on a serious note.. thats sounds cool :O instead of some big OP dragon that can kill everything with a vet behind, why not make it more challenging and fun, by adding some sort of pack instinct yeah.. i like that idea
Mabye allow people to train the current tameables to a level where they're useable in PvM? like, a trained grizzly for example

What was neat about the hellcats is you could take down an ancient lich no sweat. The hellcats swarm the thing and it hardly has a chance to fight back. Plus, there's the hellcat fire breath. You'd have to be able to control spawns or find an isolated mob, otherwise you'll lose your pack easily.

Don't pets get stronger if you fight with them? Their strength/dex goes up?
