I found most of them through trading for other spawns. But the ones I traded, I found them myself.

Me and Sam found them all (i think we found them all anyways) with PURE LUCK. and i tell you, some of them you have to guess and keep checking for a few weeks, but some are obvious.

IMO theres really only one major problem w/ rare mount spawning here. If someone wants to do nothing but check spawns all day every day they can almostly completely stop anyone else from taming anything. Which is ideal if you want to monopolize them and jack up prices, because then you dont sell training mounts at all, just expensive ones. Hold back the others so no one else can gain skill and cut in on your business. It just makes sense to do it if your after cash.
This is at the expense though of everyone else who cant find rides and cant persue their skill in a reasonable way. Its not nearly as bad now, but this is exactly what happened here. Now theres lots of stangs about and lots of gm tamers. Which is the result of sam and theo and a few other people going over the map for several hundred hours to find spawns, then selling mounts at half the price of what other tamers were asking for training mounts. Which I thought was very cool of them.
So now theres lots of tamers, and the situation is a bit better. Also a lot of the spawns are in obvious dungeon/encounter areas now. Even if its not there at the time you can make note and check a few times a day to see.
World spawn spots however are supposed to be pvp hotspots, but they arent because theres never any mounts there. You kop, track, kop. Wind used to be a crazy spot on *****, there was a small guardzone around the entrance where tamers would team up to try and fend off any reds who always always showed up to gank. The key to all of this happening was of course that mounts were always spawning there, nice mounts. Also it would take a gm tamer several minutes to tame a ride, sometimes up to a half hour for an ultra rare. So you needed protection.
TBH I think there are mounts worth up to like 250k, for being super rare or unique, first one of a new kind, etc. But it sucks when people are too afraid to lose their ride or armor or whatever that they wont ever wear it/ride it to pvp and hunt, that actually stifles the economy because people dont lose them. They just sit in a box heh. There should be more cool rides available to players who will go into high risk pvp areas.
Also shouldn't there be a way to steal someones ride? I think its been brought up several times but never got an answer. What about bonding? Any chance of making it possible?
Sry for long post, just my opinions on it. I think theres a way to make it so everyone benefits but its probably very difficult to script and would require account tagging and other crap :/ Maybe one day Taran or Shade can take a bash at it, or Nasir, we're still in beta after all

Dont we already have a huge post about this somwhere?

I totally agree with Jiraiya. I GMed taming like a week ago and its true. All I do is kop, tracking, kop. All around the 10-15 spawns every 2-3 hours. Not much excitment, im never afraid of losing a ride because there are no active pkers around. Not many tamers around neither. We should get a super duper mega rare spawn that takes 20-30 minutes for a GM taming to tame it and make it obvious so it turns into a PvP/ taming spot.

Yeah, maybe it keeps popping up every few weeks because its an issue that effects a lot of players.

It is an issue in some peoples eyes.
Sure there is always room for improvment.
But i am also sure that the other topic contain more and about the same information give by you and all others both once and twice.
I can also assure you, the staff do monitor your suggestion and ideas. And discuss.
However do not take for granted it will change today or tomorrow or next week or at all.
I do not want you too feel ignored as that is very much _not_ the case. But a good solution dont always mean it's the best one if you understand me correct.
Only because we would change the spawn system or anything else - will some people loose on it and others gain.
Another factor is that the most active players will always have an advantage and that is nothing we could or want to work around. I am not saying the system we have now is optimal but it is somewhat like uo standard but harder (as they all are not groupd up on the same area with a 5min timer - how many others do it)
I am not saying one solution is more correct than any other but that if we gave everyone the same chanse to find hard/rare mounts would this be fair to the most active hardcore tamers that make their living from taming?
One hot topic in my eyes is lowering the tame chanse at gm taming on mustangs/zos/orns/oclocks - as this would not destroy the active players chanse - but increase other players to have a chanse on interrupting them.
Bonding in my eyes are not a good solution.
Instead of bonding we could have it so players with
GM animal lore and GM vetrenarians are able to ressurect their own dead mounts with bandages, but not other players mounts (would work like bonding but put another aspec to it. Players could still kill their mounts and "guard" the corpse untill it decay but you would have easier to retrieve it if you die in for example a dungeon to monsters.
But im sure the mount spawn system always will be a hot topic and im sure we (the staff) always would want to improve it.

I would be fine with adding a mount that is hard even for GM tamers but only if it was done a certain way. See as it stands now, if such a mount was added and hit the market then it would be even easier for people to GM taming off. So I think we would have to make such a mount have no skillgain check otherwise it would just be a mess.
If I was going to add this I think while I was at it I would add a mount that couldn't be tamed at GM either. Basically something that the new tamers themselves could fight over instead of having no luck vs the current experienced tamers.
This is definitely a touchy change though so I'm not sure which way it will go at the moment. The current taming system isn't broken but it surely is not perfect and thats why if/when it is changed, we have to put quite some thought into it.

Na I dont feel ignored at all odium, and I know changing anything around requires factoring in a lot of variables, also in many cases the scripting of changes can be very difficult and time consuming. Which I think more often then not is the reason for some things being put off.
But like you said things can always be improved, and with the mount system its easy to see where there are fundamental problems with it. No solution will benefit everyone, so the best that can be hoped for is to find a solution which is at least detrimental to no one.

Awesome idea! Vet is such a pain to gain. Would be great for it to actually be useful. Its this kind of solution we need more of around here
Shade came up with some really innovative ideas as well for ways to fix up some problems with mount spawns without really having to change much of anything.

yay for my laziness!
About bonding... that is a very AoS feature so I worry about it being added. However what if instead of bonding in the traditional manner, dead mount follows you around, you could res a pet from its corpse only. Either make the ghost mount not move from where it stands or minus the ghost and just bandy the corpse. I think adding an option to res the corpse in such a manner would be much nicer and wouldnt just be copying the basic bond system. This would also let us make forensics more useful as it could be one of the skill requirements.

I'd ride rares much more often if they could be ressurected. The only time I ever die is if I get uber lag or client seizure

. And it ALWAYS results in me logging in d3d.
