New player to UO - Jogibai - 02-26-2012

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this game and I was searching the website and found this UO server.

I am very interested in playing this game but I am confused on how this game works ( it seems different than any other games.)

can anyone in game able to help me out?

what should I do at the beginning? how do i make money? it looks a little confusing.

i understand if i get PKed i will lose everything to other players?

Mainly I am little confused on how to train skills and what skills I need at the beginning to make money.

sorry for all the questions,

Thank you,

my advice is to read the new player guide (orange book in your pack) carefully. i also suggest reading up on uo.stratics.com, and browsing these forums.
soma put out a nice new player guide, it's around here somewhere Tongue

does my key ring and rune book drop when i die? or it stays with me? i've died once and it seems like my items stayed on me, just wondering if that is the case when I am out of YOUNG status.

Thanks

Keyrings are newbied so they will stay with you. Runebooks however, are not newbied, and will drop on your corpse when you die.

A common practice is to keep your Runebooks in your bank and have a stash of blank runes in there as well so you can mark one in town before you go out hunting, and bring a couple blanks with you if you find anything unique you want to go back to. Wink

Thanks for the tip.

Can i leave runebooks in my bank and set up a macro to use it when I am out hunting? or do i have to carry the runebooks with me everywhere in order to use it?

You should carry just 1 rune on you at all times that you can recall from when out in the world. One way to find out if something is newbied is to use Item Identification on the item. It should say "It has a slight magical aura" if it's newbied

Swordsmanship, Tactics, Healing, Hiding and Stealth are all essential skills you should train early in the mercenary camp!
