Why are there basicly no rules on this forum when making a thread!? This forum gets worse and worse in my opinion, totally pointless threads are made one by one, the same questions are asked over and over.
Two rules that would be very important in my opinion;
ç1 Search the forum before making a thread.
ç2 Don't make pointless threads.
If someone brakes the rules, the thread will be removed.

I propose a new forum similar to the starbucks forum on RunUO.com
Quote: Starbucks @ RunUO.com
Unmoderated forum for off-topic banter, screen shots, chit-chat and things of this nature. Flames are permitted, and you can pretty much do nearly anything within reason. No advertisements.

we have different forum sections such as "off topic" which i would imagine is the same as the starbucks one and "questions" but we can't control if people will post in the right one.

I imagine if you moderated the forums now, you'd have an average of no more than a few posts per week. There's not exactly anything to discuss about UO or INX or anything at all at this point, since its in closed development, so if you like people hanging around the website, let them misbehave.
I'm all for forum moderation when Beta 3 goes up.

Why don't you have the forum rules on the forum? And my point with this thread wasn't really to make you to just write the rules. I read your rules and it's almost funny if you take one minute or so to look through the forum, to find post/threads which breakes the rules.

At least I prefer a more unactive forum, if the post/threads which makes the forum active are those which's pointless and such.

Well if you know that everything on the forums these days is trash, why bother reading unless you see an announcement from the staff? On the other hand, if it were currently moderated you wouldn't have anything to read (not so different from now) and those people who were being moderated would be upset.

follow your own advice! a thread about pointless threads is pointless. Maybe after the shard is up and running we can worry about the content of the threads. right now ............. ?

Carl your so stu pid its not even funny. He made the post "pointless threads"
so he can get a point across, so in this case a thead about pointless cases can work for the better.

Ehm. Why would it be pointless? It has a topic which people can discuss, and they are, so I don't see why my thread would be pointless? This thread is acctually not about pointless threads if you've read it. It's about setting rules on the forum.

As long the rules will take effect when the real shard gets up, I think it's fine. And if the forum were moderated, I would have something to read. Every thread isnt pointless, or with a question which already have been asked 5 times before, there are interesting threads which doesnt break the rules Taran've set up in the rules section. There would be few threads in the forum, but why would it matter when the threads which otherwise is made are totally pointless?
