ok i'll speak more generic as i can to do not reveal secrets about it:
if another guy is in the place where you have to use the apple, with his reward with him, and you arrive there with the apple, your apple disappear, the message comes out but no reward appears for you....
if the idea is to don't let more rewards appear at same time, maybe would be good a message "you can't use the apple right now" or something like that, and save your apple for a later time
Golden Horse Apple? Hmm, that should only trigger if the spawn is active. I'll check on it.

Tested the golden horse apple spawner and it seems to be working normally. (Only takes it if the main spawn's active). Maybe you're talking about a different spawn?
I think he means that two people had apples at the same time get taken by the questnpc but only one palomino spawned.
